Mumbai Strikers Sports Club is an Indian Sports club based in Mulund, North East Mumbai. They have been members of the Mumbai Football League since 2002, and members of the Western Indian Rugby Football union since 2010 The club was founded in 1998 as Strikers Football Club and reformed in 2009 as Strikers Sports Club.In the year 2010 Mumbai was added. They initially competed in the 7 aside Football tournament’s before eventually joining the full Football League in 2002. In 2002 the team came third in the Mumbai Football League and subsequently enjoyed promotion to the division 3 for the 2003 season and got promotion to division 2 in the 2010 season. In 2010 the Club started a rugby program and also feature in the Prestigious Mumbai Rugby Cup and the Poona Cup held at The Mumbai Gymkhana against Top Rugby teams Of India. 2011 Season the Football team got promoted to the 1st Division . In 2015 the Football team qualified to the super division as Champions of the 1st Division. In 2017 the team has qualified to the top most league in Mumbai Football League - the ELITE Division making it the first club from North East Mumbai to gain promotion to the Elite Division In 2011 the Club started The Mumbai Strikers Performance Academy where young players both girls and boys are groomed in team sports of Football, Handball, Rugby and Basketball. The club is associated with Citispace (Citizens Forum for Protection of Public Space) to protect, design and monitor playgrounds and parks of Mulund and is working closely with MCGM in this endeavour MUMBAI STRIKERS SPORTS CLUB in the Community the ball project (www.theballproject.com) is the clubs community outreach programme which was started in 2009, where Children and Youth living in one of most challenging circumstances are provide competitive and recreational sport to improve life skills, self-esteem and confidence. Training local schools is a very important part of the clubs community outreach programme. Young people get the opportunity to receive inclusive team Sports coaching that is fun and enjoyable, in a safe and warm environment, and are offered guidance and support with all things sport, nutrition and health related. Since 2009, Tournaments are also regularly held for youngsters by the club to nurture a culture of sport and healthy lifestyle in the community of mulund and the adjoining area and reaching out to Children and Youths In the Community Badge and colours The club badge which features a traditional shield-like design with a letter S featured in the centre of the shield which is red in colour with a black outline above it is written the word Mumbai Strikers in black. And underneath the S Sport Club in black, below the sports club, 1998 the year of inception of the club is mentioned in black. The club's original badge was a football in flames with initials SFC Mumbai Striker’s colours are Orange, Green, Blue and White which are colours of the Indian National Flag. Strikers did not always wear the Indian national flag colour kit as they do today, before 2010 they wore bright red shirts with black trim and black shorts.
