Cricket has been the backbone of development at Deccan Gymkhana. We offer a Verdant Play Field, confirming to norms laid down by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) for conducting National tournaments and is a regular venue for BCCI matches. A regularly maintained ground with more than 12 sporting pitches help us offer good playing conditions for cricket lovers. Separate dressing rooms for teams and match officials, comfortable viewing area for players, a pop-up sprinkler system, movable sight screens and other facilities make the participants feel comfortable. Our annual cricket coaching scheme, under the supervision of former state players, is one of the finest available in Pune and attracts full batch strength. Experienced coaches, use of modern coaching techniques, restriction on the number of players per batch, participation in maximum number of tournaments etc. are the salient features of our coaching scheme. An artificial playing surface is a unique facility available at Deccan Gymkhana, which makes it possible for us to conduct our activities even during monsoons. We also offer a summer coaching scheme for amateur cricketers. The cricket ground is also offered on rent for privately conducted matches / net practices. However, only serious cricket activities are allowed at Deccan Gymkhana.
