Tennis at Deccan Gymkhana commenced during the first decade of the 20 th Century and has blossomed ever since. Today, we offer 11 tennis courts out of which 7 are asphalt base – synthetic surface courts and the remaining 4 are sand courts. Floodlight arrangements for 3 synthetic courts is an exclusive facility at Deccan Gymkhana. Deccan Gymkhana is a recognized venue for tournaments conducted by the International Tennis Federation. Many competitive tournaments are conducted at Deccan Gymkhana under the auspices of the All India Tennis Association. Professional coaches, use of modern coaching techniques, restriction on the number of players per batch, participation in maximum number of tournaments etc. are the salient features of our coaching scheme. The tennis courts are also offered on rent for Private matches / practice sessions. However, only serious tennis activities are allowed at Deccan Gymkhana.
