The Man Peter Vijay Kumar is a former top No. 5 in the country for several years, silver medalist at the National Games and State Number 1 for several years running. He is an ITF certified coach who has coached several of the leading tennis players of the state with great success. As coach he has been influential in elite player development programs with various prestigious tennis coaching institutions across the world. He is also a grass-root level tennis coach who has managed to put many a youngster from Bangalore on the tennis map of the country. He encourages the perfect combination of technical skill, physical conditioning and psychological control required by a high performance athlete. His personal philosophy encompasses a passion for tennis, striving for consistency, hard work and single-minded dedication, that enables an athlete to achieve his/her goals and objectives The support staff at the academy include a physical trainer and sports psychologist. This gives a much-needed impetus to upcoming youngsters on the mental and physical front, the absence of which has led to a lack of success among Indians in the international circuit. Peter also plays a strong role in building the mental strength of players, as he is well aware of the requirements of a player on tour away from home and family for long periods of time. Whenever required, Peter also travels with the players on the national circuit.
