GCA – The Gujarat Cricket Association was formed in 1934. An initiative by the reputed members gave birth to the governing body for the development and organization of cricket in the Gujarat state with ten districts and a union territory under its wing.
Ahmedabad, Kheda, Anand, Bharuch, Surat, Valsad (Bulsar), Gandhinagar, Banaskantha, Panchmahals, Daman and Dadra Nagar Haveli come under GCA’s jurisdiction. The association is a permanent member of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and is run by four honorary members and office bearers duly elected every three years by the General Body consisting of 37 members.
The two dynamic personalities of Gujarat Mr. Amit Shah and Mr. Parimal Nathwawani formed GCA to encourage the love of cricket among fans, develop their skills, and bring out some great talents for the country. They are duly credited for infusing professional attitude among the teams.
