VBS Chess Academy is one of the best chess academies in Tamilnadu which was formally launched by International Rated players Mr. N. Venkatraman and Mr. T. Sundarrajan along with Bharathidasan University Chess Champion Mr. R. Balaji at Trichy in the year 2004.VBS chess Academy has been so popular among Trichy chess lovers because it has created a lot of awareness about chess through schools and conducted many District Chess tournament and State level tournaments. Not only having a rich experience but also many International Masters are close associates of VBS, which helped us to organize workshop for many students.The best chess academy award was given to VBS Chess Academy in the year 2008 by TDCA. National Blind Chess Championship award was won by S.T. Sai Krishna in the year 2008-09, when he was under the guidance of Mr.R. Balaji, at Chennai.Having a solid number of more than 23 rated players and many state Champions including J. Vaishnavi, S.S. Hashini along with many District champions are products of VBS Chess academy. VBS chess Academy is not only providing professional chess knowledge also creating awareness of chess among parents. The co-ordinator Mr. R. Balaji of VBS chess Academy is conducting PEP(Parent’s Educational Program) classes for all the parents who wish to learn chess at free of cost through school chess clubs.
